The Mechanical Engineer 4 position is responsible for engineering design tasks for HVAC, plumbing, chlorine scrubber and dehumidification systems.


The Building Mechanical Team is engaged in the following:

Design and Construction Activities:
- Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Delivery/Design Build
-Facility Types - Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Pumping Stations, Solids Handling, Hydraulic Structures
-Systems HVAC, Plumbing, Chlorine Scrubbers, Dehumidification
-Type of Areas - Administrative, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Ozone, Filter Galleries, Pump Areas, Solids Handling, Headworks, UV Disinfection, Membrane, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, Clarifiers, Digester Equipment.



Studies:
-Energy Audit/Efficiency - Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations
-Code Review/Application - Facility review for code compliance
-Sustainable Design/LEED - Application of sustainable strategies
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment on boarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Intellectual Horsepower, Written Communications, Drive For Results, Decision Quality, Informing, Listening, and Dealing with Ambiguity. Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and the following applicable design guides and standards related to HVAC, plumbing, chlorine scrubber and dehumidification system design.

Job Requirements:
  • Perform mechanical design and design evaluations
  • Walk and mechanical completion acceptance
  • Perform specialized mechanical engineering calculations
  • Prepare technical specifications for mechanical engineering equipment
  • Providing input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to mechanical installations
  • Mentoring from an experienced design and projects engineer
  • Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming
  • Perform mechanical design work and documentation
  • Prepare mechanical drawings and develop specifications
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to other engineers
  • Handling all aspects of mechanical design
  • Resolve issues related to mechanical engineering
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Evaluate design calculations and data from mechanical engineering perspective
  • Developing mechanical design procedures and practices
  • Allocate fees for mechanical engineering work
  • Undertake site surveys of existing mechanical infrastructure
  • Investigate complex mechanical issues to root cause
  • Prepare cost estimates of mechanical components
  • Execute mechanical designs for assigned projects
