Job Summary :
The Warehouse Equipment Mechanic supports the warehouse operations by repairing and maintaining the facility and equipment. To include; HVAC, racking, material handling equipment, electrical, lighting, sanitation equipment, forklifts and other large or small appliances such as pallet jacks.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
Ensure all equipment is operating properly and safely
Perform periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned and according to schedule.
Include HVAC/R, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, carpentry and building maintenance, major equipment overhaul, fabrication of parts
Perform daily inspection of doors and dock levelers, banana ripening rooms and all other building and support areas
Repair racking as required. Repair or replace batteries and chargers as needed. Replace damaged or burned out lighting fixtures
Maintain complete repair order records
Follow company procedures ensuring a safe work environment
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity
Perform other duties as assigned
LOCATION: ROSEVILLE, CA
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) :
Possess a good background in electronics, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry, material handling equipment and general building repairs. Must provide own tools
Completed training in ammonia refrigeration
Manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and high places
Ability to stand, walk and work in close quarters, prone and awkward positions for lengthy periods occasionally
Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Ability to learn and follow company policies
Ability to read and comprehend all labeling on hazardous materials and equipment in the facility
Education: High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience
Experience : One of year related experience
Other : Must be available to work a variety of shifts, to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical : This position requires frequent physical movement, to include standing, sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling and rotation.Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling may be required of objects and/or equipment.Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.; occasionally required to lift greater than 75 lbs.. Must be able to work at heights utilizing ladders and lift equipment. Must be able to work in temperature extremes from 20F to 110F
