Role Summary:The Mechanic / Millwright will perform repairs and modifications on various electrical and mechanical systems. Essential Responsibilities: + Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines + Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications + Troubleshooting malfunctions and sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation + Listening for problems using precision measuring and testing instruments + Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes and hand and power tools + Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance + Completes maintenance tasks by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results + Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests + Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends + Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks + Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations + Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed + Performs Root Cause analysis during unplanned equipment downtime + Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: + High School Diploma / GED + Millwright or Mechanical related certification + Minimum 5 years of industrial / manufacturing hands-on maintenance experience in Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and/or Instrumentation role + Ability to lift 50 lbs + Ability to stand / kneel for long periods of time + Ability and willingness to work overtime as assigned Desired Characteristics: + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision + Working knowledge of PM systems + Knowledge of precision maintenance regarding alignment, fits and tolerances + Proficient in precision measurements, using Rulers, Calipers, Micrometers and other measuring instruments + Proficient using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges + Skills in Pipe fitting and Tube Bending + Knowledge of Bearings and Bearing fits + Works in safe manner + Resolves safety issues timely + Knowledge of basic computer programs + Knowledge of CCMS About Us:GE (NYSE:GE) drives the world forward by tackling its biggest challenges.
