:Dec 7, 2018, 4:32:51 PM Basic Function This position will be responsible for performing major repairs and routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities within or outside the plant to maintain optimal up time of production equipment and upkeep of the facility. May perform wiring, plumbing, electrical/mechanical maintenance repair and installation. May do simple set up operation of machinery/equipment. May be on call to perform emergency maintenance on equipment or facility issues. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide safe and timely mechanical support.
  • Will perform repairs and maintain facility machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, manuals, manufacturers specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance task to include but not limited to: visual inspections for degradations; lubricate, drain, flush, align, adjust, and clean mechanical equipment; install replace, and adjust wear items on equipment; take readings, measurements and recalibrate equipment; operate and write work orders to repair/replace worn items
  • Recommend equipment and parts to complete preventive maintenance projects and suggest modifications to preventive maintenance task
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Maintain physical structure of building.
  • Installation of conduit, wiring, switches, controls, as well as plumbing such as installing or replacing piping, tubing, hydraulic, pneumatic valves and lines.
  • Perform electrical high and low voltage work to existing electrical systems, switches, electric motors, fuses, lights, etc..
  • Ability to perform fabrication, and carpentry work as needed.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate various product handling equipment; evaluate accuracy using precision measuring equipment.
  • Maintain quality control standards and objectives and coordinate standards and objectives with station control plans.
  • Work from complicated drawings, blueprints, worksheets, and other related documents.
  • Communicate with supervisors, lead people, line leaders, and employees to obtain information for repairs. Assess the job at the job site to determine the tools needed and obtain the necessary tools and parts for repair.
  • Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains department housekeeping standards.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job responsibility.
  • Additional Information Determination of Wage Based on Level of Skill within Maintenance Class Structure Requirements Education High school diploma or GED required. Associates level from a two-year college preferred, technical school or equivalent experience. Experience 3 to 5 years work experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent work experience and education. Demonstrated maintenance knowledge of all equipment in primary assigned area. Must have previously fully met the Skill Set Inventory of Maintenance Specialist I and fully meets the Skill Set Inventory of Maintenance Specialist II. Mental Requirements Must have working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, solid state systems, basic PLC systems, and a mechanical aptitude. Worker must be able to use advance trade math with complicated drawings; use precision measuring instruments, NC/CNC equipment, PC and specific software involving technical skills knowledge; equivalent to apprentice training or two-year technical degree. Must complete and retain powered industrial equipment certification to include all powered mobile equipment of facility. Ability to work independently. Work Authorization
