Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and the safety of the racing surface and associated equipment in accordance with the Companys GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards.
Ensures compliance with Wheeling Island policies, procedures, standards, and regulations
Ensures compliance with WV Racing Commission standards as they apply to the track surface maintenance
Perform routine maintenance of the track and the racing surface including raking and shoveling and leveling of the track surface itself
Preparation of the racing surface.
Ensure the track is free of any debris or obstacles
Remove weeds from racetrack area within the boundaries of the fence line
Assist in beautification projects as assigned
Monitor track tubing to insure it is good working order to ensure proper moisture of track and the safety of greyhounds during racing.
Operate the track equipment in a safe and proper manner
Inspect boiler and heating tubes to ensure proper heating and moisture conditions
Perform preventative maintenance to track equipment
Perform basic repairs to the track, the rail system and other mechanical operations
Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Racing immediately
Inspects track surface, infield area, and tote board area to identify and address problems
Properly maintain kennel compounds sprint path and associated grounds
Landscape / mow racing related areas, including but not limited to, track infield, all grounds around the paddock building and kennel compound
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation
Complete other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent
One year related experience preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain a West Virginia Racing Commission License
Current valid motor vehicle license required
