We are hiring a full time Lead Fleet Mechanic for a large south east Ann Arbor lawn maintenance and snow removal company. Our fleet includes pickup and dump trucks, diesel and gas engine trucks, tractor equipment, a variety of commercial lawn and snow equipment - large and small engines. Also string trimmers, backpack blowers, snow blowers and other 2 & 4 cycle equipment.You would work in our large well-equipped shop and be responsible for a safe, clean, efficient workspace, as well as maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, parts and supplies; fulfilling work orders, keep repair records, follow purchase order system. As lead mechanic you will be responsible for managing one or more mechanics or shop maintenance staff with seasonal changes and will report to the General Manager.Ideal Candidate:* 5 + years auto mechanic experience* ASE Certified* Experience with diesel engines and small engine repair* Body and frame repair experience* Welding experience* CDL* Flexible schedule for different seasons, some night and weekend hours during snow season.* Other essential skills: Professional demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills. Organized, self-starter, confidant and empowered to act. Willing and able to quickly move through repetitive, routine tasks and sometimes multiple projects at once.Required Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent, 3 to 4 years auto mechanic experience* Valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record* Must acquire or obtain a valid DOT certificate* Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
